FAQs

How did Gabriel learn and grow as an artist?

God gifted Gabriel with artistic talent since childhood. Gabriel learned as a child from some artists he grew up around in Nome, Alaska, but largely, in his adult life, Gabriel has been self-taught. He uses books and resources online, as well as consults with other artists on occasion.

Will the shipping for my print cost me more if I live in the continental U.S. since Tea and Roses Studio is based in Alaska?

This is a great question and the answer is actually no. It is true we are based in Alaska, but the company we print through is based in the lower 48 (or continental U.S., if you will). That said, shipping actually costs a bit more for Alaskans than it does for those in the continental U.S., but, worry not Alaskans! If an Alaskan customer located within driving distance of Palmer, Alaska does not want to pay extra for shipping, he or she can request that we order his or her print directly to our studio for the customer to pick up. This would make shipping cheaper for the customer, especially if the customer orders a large item or more than one item.

Will my print/framed print arrive with a Tea and Roses Studio watermark on it?

No, we watermark our images on our site to protect our artwork. Your print will not arrive with a watermark on it. If this ever were to happen as a fluke-thing, the customer should alert us via email: teaandrosesstudio@gmail.com and we would express order their item to them.

How long do commissions normally take Gabriel?

The answer to this question depends. If a timeline is given for a commission (say, a painting needs to be done for a Church Chapel within three months or a piece needs to be done for a loved one for Christmas), Gabriel will let you know whether he believes he will be able to get the piece done in time or not. If you are considering requesting a commission from Gabriel, expect communication more than once throughout the process to ensure Gabriel can meet your needs expressed at the time the commission was accepted. Be sure to express your needs and desires clearly. This is the purpose of our commission inquiry form (to best be able to meet the clients needs and express expectations). Gabriel is very respectful of his clients' desires if they are relayed clearly and accurately.

Will a commission by Gabriel look exactly the way I desire for it to look?

As stated above, Gabriel does his best to meet his clients' wishes. That said, once a client signs on for a commission to be created, the client will fill out of the form expressing his wishes for said commission, and he will also read on that form that he is signing up to trust Gabriel and his artistic interpretation and abilities. Part-way through the process, Gabriel will run his progress by the client for one chance at revisions. The client should be as open with Gabriel as possible about his thoughts regarding the piece's progress thus far, to ensure his desires are met. Gabriel desires for his clients to always walk away happy with their commission, but the client must also understand that they cannot change their mind about the look of a piece once Gabriel has shown them generally how it is going to look after they've been given their chance for revision. Gabriel simply does not have time for five to ten revisions.
