There are few places in Alaska as beautiful and timeless as Eklutna Lake of the Chugiak Mountain Range. The painting depicts the lake in the later weeks of April, when the ice has thawed and the vestiges of winter still cling to the mountains. The original was painted as both a housewarming gift and a reminder of home for dear friends.
