This painting was done at the special request of dear and generous friends. It depicts a whale as it leaps from the waves upwards into the sky, appearing to fly into the clouds. The sunshine falling on the foreground and the whale contrast with the darkness of the background, where rain falls, and a storm appears to brew. This was done to represent the enjoyment of small moments, the sweetness of love and God's love amidst the darkness of life. In the middle ground, to the left of the whale, depicts our dear friends' boat "The Diva" sailing between the two dichotomized environments.
