This is the first of Gabriel's sacred art paintings he has completed. In a particularly dark part of March of 2024, a theme of holy joy in the midst of suffering repeatedly came to him in prayer. During one of these times of prayer, Gabriel felt called to paint an image of Jesus, the greatest symbol of God's joy, suffering in order to understand this mystery. Feeling trepidation at the idea of painting such a monumental subject, he decided to entrust the creation of the piece to God and began to paint. Within two evenings "The Joy of Suffering" was completed. This painting depicts Jesus during the pain and humiliation of his crowning with thorns, joyful even unto death.
The original of this painting is not available for sale. Prints are available in our shop.
